Steps for Integrating Google Business Messages

Note: Google Business Messages will no longer be available in July 2024. Brands using custom entry points must replace them with alternative messaging options before July 15, 2024. Google will stop creating new conversations from that date and will shut down the service completely on July 31, 2024. For more information, HERE

Prerequisites

Initially, you must create a Business Communications account by going to https://business-communications.cloud.google.com. If you already have a Business Communications account, continue with Creating Integration Elements in the Business Communication Console.

Creating Integration Elements in the Business Communication Console

  • You will enter the Partner Console, where you can start creating the necessary elements for integration:

  • Create Brand: In the Partner Account menu (1), find the Brands option (2) to create your business. This is a brand with which the integration will be performed. You must provide the requested information.

  • Create Agent: In the Partner Account menu, find the User option (3) to configure the agent. Here, you will need to provide several mandatory public details and the client's terms and conditions. It is also important to define the primary integration (when an interaction occurs, will a human or a bot handle it first?) and the secondary integration.

Once the Agent is created, log in to the console and continue with the following configurations:

  • Configure Location: In the Settings menu, under Locations, specify where the business is physically established.

  • Deploy: Up to this point, the previously created Agent is in test mode. Verification is necessary. Go to the Deploy menu and press Verification (1). Once the Agent is verified, find the Launch option (2) in the menu and identify the region where the agent will be in production.

Now that the business communications configuration is complete, proceed to obtain the necessary data to Configure the Channel in Lynn:

Configure the Channel in Lynn

  • In the Business Communications console, find the Service Account option (1) in the Partner Account menu and press the Create Key button (2). This action will generate a JSON file, which you can copy and paste into the [Service Account Key] (3) field of the channel configuration in Lynn.

Note: Store the JSON file securely, as this key cannot be recovered if lost.

  • Next, find the Agent Information option (1) in the Settings menu, copy the Agent Name, and place it in the [Agent Name] (2) field of the channel configuration in Lynn. Repeat this process for the Agent ID (3) field.

  • Finally, in the Settings menu, under Integrations (1), go to the Webhook configuration (2), copy the Webhook URL provided by Lynn, and press Verify in the Business Communications window.
